Reach Out and Read®
Trillium Health Pediatrics is a proud supporter of Reach Out and Read,® a national organization that believes in integrating reading aloud and pediatric care. Our Reach Out & Read® program includes a dedicated library area with bookshelves, colorful graphics, and more. We believe that the best opportunity to influence a child’s future is in the first five years of their development. Our medical providers give a book to every child at well-child visits from the ages of 6 months to 5 years old and encourage families to read aloud and engage with their children every day. A $100 donation helps to provide 10 books to our pediatric patients.
HIV, STD, & Hep C Testing
At Trillium Health, we work to prevent the spread of infections by providing free testing for HIV, STDs, and Hepatitis C both in-person and with at-home kits. Each in-person testing appointment includes a personalized risk assessment, testing, and risk reduction counseling with a trained test counselor. We also offer free condoms and lube for sexual health and HIV prevention. With a $350 donation, we can cover the cost of 10 at-home HIV or STD kits, so more people know their status.
Care Management & Supportive Services
We know there's more to good health than doctor's visits. At Trillium Health, we have a comprehensive model of care – we treat the physical, emotional, and social determinates of health of our patients. Barriers to housing, transportation and food make it extremely hard to focus on your health, so our supportive services are here to help. We offer housing services for people who are living with HIV or are experiencing homelessness, transportation to medical appointments, a food pantry, and a nutrition health education program to teach people how to eat healthy on a budget. A $500 donation helps us cover 100 meals to feed hungry families, and a $600 donation helps us fill 25 care packages with household and personal care items.
Protect with PrEP
Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) is a medication that prevents HIV. When taken as prescribed, PrEP reduces the risk of getting HIV up to 99% in HIV-negative individuals. Trillium Health is the leading Upstate New York healthcare provider for HIV prevention and PrEP. We work with patients, regardless of their insurance status, to make sure they pay little to nothing for PrEP. A $1,000 donation helps us to care for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.
