welcoming Emily Graham, PA
We're excited to welcome Emily Graham, Physician Assistant, to Pathway Pediatrics! We asked her a few questions to learn more about her.
Q: What do you like best about your job so far?
A: I like establishing relationships with patients. I get to see them every couple of months, and we can build long-term relationships.
Q: Why did you get into medicine?
A: I had a lot of medical issues when I was younger, so I always was at the doctor, and I liked my experiences there. I wanted to help other people and make them feel comfortable, too. I know what patients are going through when they come to a doctor's office. I try and put myself in their shoes and make them feel as comfortable as possible.
Q: There are so many other practices that you could have gone to – why did you choose Trillium Health?
A: My cousin works at Trillium - I knew about their mission and what they stand for. I really liked that. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated equally, and everyone deserves healthcare - no matter what their background is.
Q: What is it like to work in a brand new facility every day?
A: The facility is great and the building is gorgeous. I love that all the exam rooms have different animals, so there's a different animal theme for each room. My favorite room is the Sloth Room. I think it makes the environment more comfortable, and it's definitely nice to come into such a gorgeous building to work.
Q: What was it like to start at Pathway Pediatrics in the middle of a pandemic?
A: I did not know what to expect - I wasn't sure if I'd even be seeing patients in-person. I haven't gotten to see a lot of my coworkers and patients “below the mask,” but now things are starting to lighten up.
Q: Where did you go to school?
A: I went to Daemen College in Buffalo, NY. I was born and raised in Leroy, New York, and I still live there with a dog, two cats, and 8 pet goats.
