BJ Scanlon Elected as Board Chair
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Dec. 15, 2017) — BJ Scanlon, Rochester City Council, Senior Legislative Analyst, has been elected to serve as Trillium Health’s new board chair. Scanlon replaces Stuart J. Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of Pathstone Corporation, who will continue to serve as a board member.
Scanlon leads a 17-member volunteer board representing area businesses, not for profit organizations, and the patient/consumer perspective. Andrea DeMeo, president and chief executive officer of Trillium Health, serves in an ex officio capacity on the board.
“I’m thrilled that BJ Scanlon is our new Board Chair and I am confident that he will continue to shepherd Trillium Health into the future of health care, building upon the exemplary leadership provided by Stuart Mitchell during his tenure as our chair,” said Andrea DeMeo. “As a Federally-Qualified Health Center Look-Alike, Trillium Health is expanding its role in the greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region, and our board leadership will help drive Trillium Health’s strategic growth and increase access to care and our services to all, including members of our LGBTQ communities.”
In addition to BJ Scanlon, Trillium Health’s 2017 board officers include: Judy Cranston, chief executive officer of the Girl Scouts of Western New York, who serves as vice chair of governance and board secretary; Raymond Mayewski, M.D., former chief medical officer and vice president at the University of Rochester Medical Center, who serves as vice chair of quality; and Jason Barnecut-Kearns, vice president of Finance at Xerox Corporation, who serves as vice chair of finance/audit and board treasurer.
New board members appointed in 2017 include: Cindy Becker, vice president and chief operating officer, Highland Hospital; Annie Brooks, minister, Greater Works Ministry and The Hurlbut Nursing Home; William Clark, chief executive officer, Urban League of Rochester; Rodney Fudge, Homeless Services Network; Todd Jusko, Ph.D., assistant professor, University of Rochester Medical Center; Michelle LoPresti, analyst and programmer, Rochester Regional Health System; Christopher Sardella, Records Management Supervisor, Monroe County Board of Elections; Joseph L. Searles, Jr., Corporate Director, Excellus BlueCross Blue Shield; and James Vesper, Ph.D., director, Learning Solutions of ValSource, LLC.
Trillium Health board members, elected in previous terms and continuing their service to the board, include Linda Clark, M.D., president, and owner of Clark Occupational Medicine Services; Marcus Kroll, attorney, Kroll Law Firm, LLP; and David Quick, president of Meliora Wealth Management, LLC.
