Rochester, NY—On August 30, 2016, Dr. William M. Valenti will speak to more than 100 globally staffed nurses and physicians representing the United Nations Medical Services Division (UNMSD) through a live webinar on HIV Treatment and Prevention. The medical staff represent various hospitals, medical institutions, health systems and medical divisions involved in peacekeeping missions. Some of the agencies in attendance include the World Health Organization, UNAIDS global offices, United Nations Mission in Sierra Leone and more.
Valenti, will speak about the End the Epidemic program, Pre-exposure prophylaxis treatment (PrEP), important HIV opportunistic diseases and co-morbid conditions; and how to treat and counsel HIV patients in underserved or underdeveloped areas.
Dr. Valenti, a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Rochester and Senior Vice President Strategic Advancement at Trillium health will host the webinar and UN training session from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday. The session will be available for viewing at a later date through the UNMSD website.

The goal of the UN Medical Services Division’s Expert Webinar series is to provide all healthcare providers in the global UN network with the highest quality learning opportunities that are designed to advance medical staff competence, enhance practice performance, promote patient safety and improve patient outcomes in the UN staff population that is served.
